Harryo vs. Tallis

Hey! We love old fashioned names! We have Little Margaret already, and would love your help with our next little girl! Harryo is pronounced Hair-e-oh, and Tallis is prnounced Tal-is(not tall-is). Thanks! Hanna and George

My vote is Tallis. I also think the name Tallon is a nice option as well. I’m not a fan of Harryo.

I can’t find anything on Harryo and to be honest it’s extremely unflattering, perhaps you would like Harriett, or Henrietta? Tallis is decent but does not go well with Margaret since it is so rare and Margaret is not. What about Eleanor?

Tallis is not as pretty as Margaret & Harryo is just going to lead to teasing imo.

I find it unflattering because it begins with the word ’harry’ which is not something any girl would want to be described as, and because it ends in ’O’ which usually signifies it as being a male name.

I’m not sure I see how girls named Tyler is relevant but I personally (as a women) wouldn’t like to be named Tyler.

Well it’s a masculine name, I was using it as an example. All I’m saying is that people get weird names all the time. Harryo seems so have a little bit of character to it at least.

i believe it would be unkind to name a daughter harryo- try it for a pet puppy instead and give the child the respectful name Talis.

I prefer Tallis to Harryo and I agree with the pp poster that said Harryo is unflattering. I would suggest if you want your child to be called "Tal-is" then spell the name Talis. Tallis will lead to mispronunciations and I think Talis is prettier anyway. Good Luck

we are expecting next month and decided on the name Tallis Gabrielle Pellegrino. I love that I found your post and to see that there are other who love the name Tallis... how did you come up with it? I heard it in a movie as a last name and thought it would be a perfect first name!
