Katie vs. Kaitie vs. Katy
We’re naming our baby Kaitlyn if she’s a girl. We will call her Kait for short, but I know she will also get called Katie. Do we go with the traditional spelling of Katie, even though her name has the i before the t, or should we spell it different? I think that might be confusing...

I wondered if we could do the Kate spelling... I actually prefer it. We would spell her name Katelyn except that it’s so close to her sisters spelling of Madelyn.

I think Kate is the prettiest and Katelyn is lovely. I do not think it’s too close to Madelyn, they simply have the same ending. Also, it sound like they’d go by nick names for often, Katie and I’m assuming Maddie are pretty close.
