Lorraine vs. Lorri vs. Lori

Hi. I love the name Lori, but Im not sure if its strong enough to stand on its own. I love the name Lorraine as well and I think it will look more professional on paper. So what do you guys think? Is it strong enough on its own or does it need a fuller name? Also which spelling of Lorri/Lori do you like best? Thanks

Lorraine is very pretty and ages well! I prefer Lori, but Lorrie would be cute also.

I like Laurie or Lorrie. Laurie looks more professional than Lori. Lauren is cute.

If you’re going to use just the name Lori, I agree with the previous poster that Laurie looks more professional and not so nickname-y.

But if you prefer the spelling Lori, I would use it as a nickname for Lorraine. I think just one r looks better than two too.

Just some more options to throw out there that I’ve seen use the nn Lori before...
Loralie
Lorelie
Lorianna
Lorianne
Mallory
Valorie

The last 2 were a stretch, but I have known people use Lori as a nn for that.

I think Lori is strong enough, but if you love Lorraine as well go with it and use Lori as the nn. It will give her options! I prefer Lori to Lorri.

Umm...I’m a Lori. I am a professional with a job and graduate degrees and everything...

Trust me, Lori is fine on its own. I’ve never had an issue with my first name and most people appreciate that its spelled exactly like it sounds. I’ve always thought Lorri looked silly. Never had a problem with Laurie, though. Its pretty. Still happy to be me, though.

PS, I have short first, middle, and last, so resumes I use all. Business cards are just first and last with middle initial. I only sign first and last. I’m a Lori Anne, btw.

I think Lorri is short for Lorraine and the way Lorri has the two r's it's more unique. One r looks ewwww.

If someone spells Lorri like that their mother must have been named Lorraine, like my dad Scott's, I was named after my Grandmother Lorraine Geiszler. And she she passed away the month I was conceived.
