Amy Joy vs. Amy Grace vs. Other Combination

Okay, so we’re going to try this again. After 3 first-trimester miscarriages, our daughter is due in September. Her first name is Amy because it means "Beloved." Should her middle name be Joy so that the meaning comes out as "Beloved Joy", Grace (since it’s my middle name), or a combination like Amy Joy-Grace Carmichael or Amy-Grace Joy Carmichael? I’m sorry to keep posting, but we’re really struggling with her name. We want it to be as special as she is. Thank you for your patience, Dan & Julia Carmichael.

Amy and Joy both ending in the same sound doesnt flow as well as Amy Grace. I think Amy Grace is lovely personally.

Amy Grace flows beautifully. Besides, how often are you going to refer to "Beloved Joy" if Amy Joy is her name? Amy Grace Carmichael is best in apprearance, sound and because you might not get the chance to name another baby after you.

Amy Grace because Amy Joy doesnt flow as well and the 2 ys make it less pretty. Aimee Joy would look better

Eigth poster, thanks. You are right, and we’ve made our decision (finally!). She will be Amy Grace Carmichael. She is our "Beloved daughter by the Grace of God". Since I still like Joy so much, if by a miracle we ever have another girl, maybe we can use it for her. Thanks to everyone who helped us figure her name out. It really means a lot that you took the time.

Both are pretty but my favorite is Amy Joy. I know it is your mn but it seems like every baby I meet lately,the middle name is Grace.

I agree with pp. Grace is so overused that I cringe when I hear the name. Sorry! Amy Joy is so cute and I love the meaning behind the name.

Grace may be popular at the moment, but this poster has a very special reason to use it- for one, it is her name, and another, because she may not be able to have other children.....plus it has a lovely meaning. It is a timeless classic, not a trend.
