Maxen vs. Yes or vs. No?

I posted a few weeks ago and got some good replies, but we’re still working on the name... We love Max, but can’t think of a longer version we like (not a fan of Maximilian, Maxwell, or Maximus) and I’ve recently found the Welsh name Maxen. We do like the way it sounds, but does it seem like a "fake" name? Like we just totally bought into the whole "an/en" names trend and just messed with Max to make it more like Aidan? Thanks!

Reminds me of maxin’ and relaxin’. I personally don’t like it but if you do that’s all that matters. GL

I knew a guy named Maxence. I think he said it was French, and he went by Max most of the time. So that’s another option. But I like Maxen, I think better than Maxence.

I had a high school teacher who’s first name was Maxim. He was Russian, so I don’t know if it’s more common there. I just remember wondering if he went by Max.

Maxen is nice, but it does sound a bit made up.
