Just vs. Curious.
I’m just curious as to how much this site and the results of our polls actually factor in to our final decisons. We got negative feedback, but went with our name anyway. So, I’m wondering, how much does (or did) your poll results affect your name choices? ~Lillian

I think it’s a place to run ideas by others, especially since my husband gets annoyed when I pester him with names too much. :-) Or, if I have something in mind but want to test drive it before I throw it his way, this is a good place to do this. So I think it makes more difference if you’re in the early stages or if you love several names equally. It’s less useful when you already have a name you love.

If it’s 100% negative then I reconsider. If people point out nicknames or teasing that I never thought of then I reconsider. Otherwise, I’m just hoping for reassurance.

I got really bad feedback, but nothing that was useful. It was just rude people who didn’t like the name. If I had gotten actual constructive criticism that had a point I might have reconsidered. Me and Hubby still LOVE the name and she will be Graecyn Anastasia:)

Poster 4 has a good point. If its just hormonal women being b*tchy, who cares. If they point out something useful like a horrible nn or teasing possibilities then re think the name.

I came on here when i was pregnant with my daughter Rose. I loved the name since my childhood, and came on here and got negative feedback. I guess I just wanted to know some opinions of others. Since my husband and I loved the name, we went with it. And we love it! :)
