I like the nickname Dottie, however I don’t like the first names it usually comes from; Dorothy, Dorthea, etc. Any idea for first names where the nickname could be Dottie?

My daughter is Charlotte and we call her Dot.

I have a friend named Dottie and it’s not short for anything - it’s just Dottie =) I think it’s a fine stand-alone name... Her middle name is Jean so she’s sometimes called DJ or by both names, Dottie Jean. Good luck!

You could name her anything and call her Dottie. A lot of nn have absolutely nothing to do with their real name

I agree with 4th poster. Or you could give her the initials ’DT’ and nn her Dottie (do you like Dodie?)
