Aubry vs. Aubrey vs. Aubree

My maiden name is "Aubry", but I love original spellings "Aubrey". We plan on giving our daughter the nick name of Bree "Aubree", so I’m having a hard time deciding on how to spell her name. Should I make it personal, keep it normal, or updated it including the nn spelling???

Aubrey is perfect! It looks more like a first name (rather than a surname) than Aubry, and it looks much more polished than Aubree. And, the whole thing with nicknames is that they’re nicknames--they don’t have to be exactly in the full name.. There’s absolutely no reason not to have Aubrey nn Bree.

Out of those choices, I like Aubrey, nn Bree. But my favorite spelling is Aubri nn Bri.

I’d go with your favorite and the tradional spelling of Aubrey. It’s still the same name and honors you, but makes it her own a little too. And you can spell Bree like that without spelling Aubree that way. nn don’t alwasy match full names. it’s fine. GB!
