Neither! Drew is a boys name! It came from Andrew and both names even mean "Man."

Sorry, but I agree with 2nd poster. I don’t like guy names on girls.

The spelling Dru is actually the feminine spelling from the name Drusilla. Therefore, 2nd and last poster, the name can be feminine. I do not think you should use the spelling Drew; that does make it luke masculine.

Then perhaps she should name her Drusilla.

Love the name Drew for a girl... but please don’t name your baby Drusilla as someone else commented!! That’s one of the wicked stepsisters in Cinderella. :)

Actually, the step sister’s name was Drizella. You may look it up for confirmation.

Drew is a unisex name....therefore can be used for a girl. It is not just a boys name. Sorry posters who think otherwise.
I like it, I’d spell it Drew. Good Luck!

Look it up - Drew means "Man". Therefore this cannot be a unisex name!

Rachel-How can you argue with the fact that the version Dru is the feminine form? You can show that Drew means man and I can show that Dru means wise. Why should she have to use the long form Drusilla if she was just going to be called Dru anyway? If you like Drew you wouldn’t necessarily use Andrew. You sure are taking this personally.

Drew Barrymore is pretty, smart & tomboyish, that’s what I would imagine a girl named Drew to be.
Not a fan of Dru...GL!

Hey all. My parents actually decided to use both of their middle names and combine them to form my name. I honestly love having the name Drew..and yes I’m a girl. I find it unique and rare. I was never ever picked on as a kid because of my name. My name is paired with a girly middle name, Allison..so it works. In my opinion, Drusilla is just going overboard. Actually, as a joke sometimes my friends would call me Drusila..and I got the nickname "Zilla" but in all honesty that was all us just joking around haha. Overall, Drew is a beautiful name. Hope that helps!

My name is Dru. Love it as I have always been the only female Dru I know. Yes, unfortunately my full name is Drusilla, but formally changed it to Dru. It is a strong name for a strong woman. Yes, I occasionally get mail to Mr. but never bothered me.

Hi, my name is Dru and I’m a 61 year old female! My given name is Dru, so it isn’t short for anything ..it’s just short, lol! Oh, and I have two brothers with unisex names, too. Our parents had fun with that :)

Oh em gee! My daughter is thinking of naming her daughter Drue with that spelling because she has a daughter named True already. They will be 2 years apart. I like it :-)
