Naomi vs. Naomie vs. Noemie

We’re pretty sure we’ll name our daughter this, but we’re still unsure about the spelling. Naomi you all know. Naomie is a new take on it (also avoids sp "I moan" backwards). And Noemie is the French version, pn No-ay-mee (also my husband says it sounds a bit like "no ami"... Frenglish for no friends :P ). Which do you prefer? And we’re still thinking about mn - Camellia we really like, but can you think of something else? Thanks :)

I would go with Naomi...it’s a very pretty name but I’m not crazy about the other spellings...

Naomi is fine. It’s "i moan" backwards, and she’ll get a little teasing (I had a good friend my freshmen year of high school who got it - it didn’t faze her at all) but it doesn’t matter, there’s nothing malicious about it.
Naomi Camila/Camilla sounds nice - a little softer than Camellia.

Never been a fan of Naomi. I just find it to be old and stuffy sounding plus it is getting very common these days

Sorry you don’t like it. It sounds very fresh to us though, and it hasn’t made it to the top 100 last year in the US, so we’re not too worried about it becoming overly popular. But thanks for sharing your opinion! :)

I prefer Naomi. With Naomie she would most likely have to correct people, but I don’t think the ’i moan’ thing is a huge problem, kids can be cruel about almost any name. Naomi Claire is fresh and simple. The Camila spelling is pronounced kah-meel-ah not like Camilla. It’s a lovely name but for me there are too many m sounds. What about:
