Vera vs. Varah vs. Vaira

My sister is having a baby and likes the name Vera (like Vera Wang I guess). But, she doesn’t like when people pn it V-ear-ah. She prefers V-air-ah (rhymes with Farrah). She isn’t sure how to spell it to get the pn she wants and doesn’t want the girl having to correct people all the time. Any thoughts? If you have any other name suggestions, she likes somewhat unique, and sort of old-fashioned names.

I would pronounce Vera "Vair-ah"... I don’t see any reason to mess with the spelling. The others just look a little off. Actually, if I just saw the other two spellings, I would probably guess that the person was Indian or something like that. Not that that’s a bad thing, but maybe something to consider.

Vera would make me think v-ear-a. Both Varah and Varrah would have me guessing between V-are-a and V-air-a, but it really isn’t that difficult to say, no, it’s v-air-a. I think Varrah would get it right most of the time, since it’s spelled like Farrah.
