Jacob Leo vs. Leo Joseph vs. Samuel Joseph

Baby boy on the way...Joseph, Leo, and Jacob are all old family names. We realize Jacob is #1, and some say to stay away from it because of that. Still, it’s about 0.5% of all baby boys in the US. 1 out of 200. Should we avoid it, or is it really that much better?

My advice: use the name you love. If you love jacob, and know it’s popular but aren’t bothered by that fact, then go for it! My son was born in 08, we named him Ethan. I didn’t know at the time that his name was so popular, and may have named him something else if I had known. I still love his name, though, and there aren’t many Ethans in our immediate circle.
