Susie vs. Susan

I really love the nickname Susie. The problem the only Sue name i like is Susan and I’m okay with it but I’m not sure its in the running for my final choice. I do not like Susanna/ext. Just Susan and Susie. Should I just use Susie as the full name?

I know a girl named susan marie (she went by susie) and a girl named susie lorette. So you could really go either way and choose the one you love most.

Susan is a nice name, Susie is a cute nickname. If you like Susan, use it as the full name. I can’t see the name "Susie" at the top of a resume or at the bottom of a business letter or after the title "Doctor", but Susan is a nice name for an adult - even if everyone in her life calls her Susie!
Personally, I adore the name Susannah, but I totally understand that you don’t like it!

I would go for Susan. It’s sweet and sunny, and is a bit more "dressed up" than Susie as a formal name, while still lending itself very easily to the nickname. I think it’s a beautiful choice!

Thank-you all for your help:) I am so glad no one has said its to old ladyish yet. I understand why they would say that though:)

Nahh - "old-lady" names are making a comeback! Honestly the only names I would call "too old lady" would be names like Gertrude and Edna and Bertha, and I feel bad saying that.

Also Roma and Sharon (but only Sharon as a middle name? I don’t want her to be called Sharry:)

Also

Helen
Joyce
Greta
Eleanor
Elaine
Diane
Alison
Alexandra
Carys (I know this is modern but I am so close to taking it off my list. Need to ask hubby what he thinks but it just sounds like I’m saying carrots. What do you think?)

I like Eleanor (maybe Ella, Nora, Elle), Alexandra, Alison and Carys from your list. I never thought of it but it does sound like carrots...

I like Susan best of all the names you’ve posted!
I also like, though, Roma, Greta, Eleanor, Elaine, and Diane (or Diana).
Susan Elaine or Susan Eleanor would be fine names, GL!

Cute! I’m an Abigail Katherine, mostly go by Abbie, but when I was little my mom would call me "Abbie Kate" sometimes and I always wished she used it more because I loved it! It’s what I usually go by on this site. Haha.
Eleanor Susan, Marilyn Susan, and lots of other combos could have similar nickname options. (Ellie/Ella Sue/Susie, Mari Sue, etc)

My mom’s name is Susan Elaine. I think it’s a great name! Very retro-cool.
