Boy’s vs. Name vs. Dilemma
Hello everyone we’re having a boy in January and have a question for you. Before kids, my husband and I decided that boys would be named after him and girls would be named after me. So far we have Mackenzie Leigh (Leigh is my middle name) and Isaac Patrick (Patrick is my husband’s middle name). This baby should have my husband’s first name which is Shelby. Is it ok to give our son the middle name Shelby if it’s after his father? We were thinking maybe a strong masculine name would help. What do you think? Thanks! I think it is OK to use on a son if its used in his father’s name.

I think Shelby is okay to use as a middle name. Have you ever thought of giving him two middle names to help balance it out. Like Collin James Shelby. Or only using part of the name like Shelton Michael or Gregory Shel.
