Auden vs. Boys name vs. Girls name
My partner and I adore the name Auden for our first daughter, though when I mentioned it to my sister she said that it struck her as purely masculine. What do you think? Will Auden work for our little princess?

i like it for both but prefer it for a boy. it makes me think of W.H Auden, which is why i prefer it for a boy. but i think it can work for a girl, when paired with a super girly mn

My niece is named Auden Grace.
I never even knew it could be considered for a Boy.
I like it on a Girl so I say use it!

I definitely think the spelling looks masculine and it also sounds masculine. It is not unisex in the least. It isn’t even listed on any baby name sites as being unisex. I think the main reason I say it looks and sounds masculine is because of the strong sound of the den at the end. Just like Alden or Aden. I think maybe Audrey for a girl would be better. But in the end you don’t really care what any of us say; you’re still going to use the name.

I think it could be both, however I’ve only ever know it as a boys’ name. What about Ardyn?

Well my name’s Auden and I’m a girl and most people say it’s really pretty, I don’t think it’s very masculine!

I think of Auden as a boys name especially it’s meaning ’old friend’ - And of course the poet/writer WH Auden. I am considering it as a first name for by second son. I think it’s quite an American think to do to give girls a surname though- I think it would be more popular in American as a girls name... ?? I do like it for both- just immediately think masculine.
