I don’t see why not. Your bro-in-law may think you named your son after him but as long as you don’t have an issue with him thinking that, go for it!

I would not do it, but that’s just me. It is really close. Make it a middle name if you love it.

There are alot of people who name their kids after family mambers or who have similar names. I wouldn’t worry; you don’t live in the same house so it won’t be too confusing.
