I have a very hard time believing this is a real post. What parent would argue for their son to be named after a lump of coal? Sounds like you are just trolling for comments to me.

No. I would not use the name if you’re going to spell it Coal. That’s just mean to your son.

Cole = great. Coal = uneducated and silly. Use Cole or when my husband and I disagreed on the spelling we found a different name altogether.

I love Cole, but I’m not a fan of Coal. How about Kohl, Kole, or Koal? Coal reminds me of the natural resource, but by changing the C to a K, it changes that connotation, for me anyways. Hope this helps.

That’s just cruel to name a kid Coal. Cole is cute, but not with the spelling of something that Santa gives if you’re naughty. I agree with the first poster that this is pretty hard to believe that someone would fight to use the spelling Coal.

I just want to say cole kole and koal are great names but coal really is not also why would this not be a real post? Lots of people have named there children worse things that coal

As far as I am concerned Coal is perfectly fine. Sure its different...and your kid..might get picked on for it but I have actually wrote a story with a guy named Coal in it. Yeh maybe right now its not popular but who’s to say later it won’t be popular to name your kid that? You just have to look at it this way, if you think a name is funny its only because the world around you would think its a funny name. People need to lighten up and admire the unique things in this world.Be different, be free to be who ya want to be and name your kid whatever you want to name it....unless your thinking of naming your kid poop O,O that would be going maybe a little too far with the uniqueness. Soooo I vote for Coal!!

I think it dumb, but also that you should do it, on account of my name is Cole and I don't like it when other people have the same name. I find that people who don't know how names are spelled often spell my name "Coal".
