Daylin. It’s not as bad as most made up names but I prefer traditional names. Although if Condoleeza can be Secretary of State, anything is possible.

Dalen (or Dallin, its original spelling), a name I posted on this site, is not a made-up name. Its Old English meaning "a proud people". I love this name as a boys name, not as a uniquely spelled girls name. Sorry

Dayla would be a great alternative. Daelyn is pretty, but I dont think it will age well.

Our son is named Daelyn Thomas and is 100% rotten 4 year old boy, ours is not a traditional spelling but it fits, I could not see him as anything else.

My name is Daelynne. My parents choose to spell it with 8 letters. I am a female and I was born back in 1986 when the name was first ever recorded. Only five babies were named it that year. I’m one of those five babies which were all born females.
My name is Daylyn,and I’m a girl. Because the way we pronounce it is Day-Lynn. It’s an unique name and I enjoy it.

My sons name is Daylyn. I was torn between Daelyn and Daylyn. I chose to go with two "y’s"... Daylyn. It is a great Strong name....and he loves that his name has two " y’s".

My husband’s best friend was born in the late 70s, named Daylyn pronounced DAY lin. He was named when no one would dream of using it as a girl’s name. We’re thinking of using it for our son, but everything keeps popping up as female... we really hate gender neutral names and especially boy names turned into girl names. No offense to others, just a personal preference.
