Does it really matter how you want to spell it since it is only a nickname? You’ll be calling her Lizzy or Lizzie but her name will be spelled as Elizabeth correct?

Lizzy to avoid the Lizzie Borden connection.

We called our daughter Lizzy after Lizzy Bennett in Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice.

We checked in the book to see how Jane Austen spelt it, and sure enough- it was with the Y.

Hope that’s helpful to somebody some day!

I am called Elizabeth but most people call me Lizzy/Lizzie. I actually decided myself I’d rather it were spelt ’Lizzy’ after reading Pride and Prejudice becuase what’s good enough for Jane Austen is good enough for me. I think the ’y’ looks classier :)

Me and my friends use Lizzy, but they just started spelling it that way so I just did. I mostly like Liz best though!

It drives me crazy when people spell my name Lizzie ... it's Lizzy. I never had any issues with people misspelling it until recently..very annoying when it's a reply to an email with Lizzy written on it
