Neko vs. Nicko vs. Niko
My first girl will be named Neko/Nicko/Niko. Her middle name is already decided, and it’s Swan(which is a name I saw on another poll). I like all the spellings, but I can’t choose which. Please help. -Florence

Neko looks to me like it would be pronounced Neck-o and neck o’ swan doesn’t sound right at all. Nicko looks like Nick-o. I would definetly go for Niko. Good luck!

Neko is pn NEE-ko. It’s the same for the other two. And it can be either a boy or girls name.

I agree with the second poster. I realize all of the names are technically pronounced the same way, but as a preschool teacher, when you read a name from a roll, you say the first thing you think of. Neko reminds me of the little Necco wafer candies. Niko is very straightfoward and classy. I would choose Niko.
