Can Macy be short for vs. Mackenzie or Mackenna?

I’ve fallen head over heals for the name Macy and really, really want to use it for our daughter. My hubby likes it enough, but still really likes Mackenzie and Mackenna a lot better. So, I was wondering if it could be short for them since you can spell them with a MAC beginning? What do you think?

I don’t care for any of them, but why not?

There aren’t rules.

You will have to Tell everyone, "She goes by Macy," since it won’t be an obvious one, but that’s not too big of a deal.

I think it’s a bit of a stretch (mostly because most girls with the name Mackenzie go by Mack or Kenzie) but it could work if you wanted it to. I agree with it being a little weird to say that a girl with the name Mackenzie goes by Macy (I would never personally guess that) but if it’s what you want go with it.

I guess you could call her Macy short for Mackenzie or Mackenna, but personally I just like Macy by itself.
