Emerson vs. Emersyn vs. Emersen

We are naming our baby girl Emerson in January, and I was just wondering if you guys like it with a different spelling that looks more feminine... I know many people on here don’t like it for a girl at all, but we love it! Thanks for your input!

Even though it isn’t a favorite name of mine, I think the ’Y’ helps it be more feminine.

I like the spelling Emerson, even though I don’t particularly like it on a girl.
I think all the other spellings would be misspelled a lot.

If you *must* use this name, just spell it the normal way -- don’t dumb it down with weird vowels. Emerson. Spell it like that.

I think a lot of people would be offended by the last comment...there are so many unique spellings to names these days, how does that mean you are "dumbing it down?" Just because you don’t prefer it, doesn’t mean it’s dumb, now does it?

If you look into who names their kids one thing vs. another, yes, you can determine which names are statistically dumber than others. It’s not PC to say so, but it’s true.

I dont know, I can see how a person would be conceived as dumb if their name was Elmer or Billy Bob, but would you really think a person was less intelligent because one O or E was replaced with a Y? I guess I would have to research into that before I decide what I think

We are naming our daughter either EMERSYN or EMERCYN... I think in a world of too many Jason & Jennifer’s a unique spelling doesn’t dumb down anyone. Only narrow minded individuals have the pleasure of doing that.
