I think Fairlight should be her middle name. You can call her Fairlight but her "more usual" name will appear first on documents and job applications.

Fairlight as the middle name is a thought - one we hadn’t yet considered because we’d like to call her by it. But I guess some people do go by their middle names. Thanks for the suggestion. We will definitely consider it.

I agree. I would use Fairlight as her mn. You can still use a unique name that’s not quite so out there.

My name is Fairlight Christianna. I like Fairlight as my first name. It is unique, it has never been as issue on important documents. The meaning my parents gave it is: To be the fair light of Christ.

I’ve never gotten sick of my name and I’ve even considered passing it on to any future daughters. I think I’ll give it as a middle name though to avoid any confusion. :P

I have a niece named Fairlight and it sounds as normal as any other name to us. She likes it and several local girls have named their baby dolls Fairlight. :)

We were so surprised to see another Fairlight Gwendolyn on here! That's so cool!
Gwendolyn was her great great grandmothers name.
We say Fairlight Gold and love how it sounds as if we might be saying "Fair, like gold"-
