Linny vs. Lynnie vs. -----lyn nn Lynnie/Linny

I love the name Lynnie/Linny but everyone says its not a name or that its a nickname. Its for a little girl should her name be Lynnie/Linny or should it be like Brooklyn or Madelyn or even just Lyn/Lynn and then I call her Lynnie/Linny? Thanks for your opinions. Kylie

I say use Lynn (it ages well) and call her Lynnie. If you used Brooklyn or Madalyn, she’d probably get called "Brooke" or "Mady", not the name you intended.
Good luck!

Lynnie sounds more like a nickname. My personal opinion is name her Lynn if you want to call her Lynnie. If you name her Madelyn or Brooklyn, Lynnie could be her nickname if you start off by calling her by Lynnie...otherwise expect her friends to call her Madi/Maddie or Brooke.

Lynnie looks nicest. Neither sound right as a full name though. Lynnie just sounds nicer as a nn. I love Madelyn as her full name. Lynn would also work but is kind of plain.

go with Lynnie, she can be Lynn when she’s older, or name her Lynn and call her Lynnie, i don’t think you need anything more complicated than that

My daughter is called Lynnie (after loch linhe in Scotland) however knew she would forever be spelling that out to people! She is now 5 and we call her Lyn more than we ever thought we would.
I haven't met another Lynnie yet.
