Mary Kathleen (Kate) vs. out of date?

We are expecting our 4th child, which was a bit of a shocker! We find out the sex next week, but wondered what the thought was on the name "Mary Kathleen" (we will most likely call her Mary Kate as a nickname). Mary & Kathleen are family names and have special meaning. BUT- is the name a classic, or is it out of date? We are a bit out practice from the baby naming game.

I know someone who named their daughter Emily Katherine and they call her Emmy Kate. I think that could be less "out of date" and cute, but to tell you the truth, I think I like Mary Kathleen (Mary Kate) better! Good luck

I asked a similar question in a poll afew days ago and I think it Mary Kate is great. It is a classic.

I think people are going to go back to classic names soon cause all the kids will have crazy names and be annoyed with it. thats just my prediction!

mary is cute, but i don’t know if i would use it as a first name.
i really don’t like kathleen, too plain for me.
i do however really love the name mary-kate.

Mary Kathleen is gorgeous and Mary Kate is a lovely nickname. Both names, especially Mary are classics and not dated at all.

My daughter is getting ready to name her twin baby girl Mary Kathleen and call her Mary Kate. My name is Mary and the other grandma is Kate. What an honor this is to have a namesake!❤️
