Kristina vs. Nicknames

I like Kristina but not the nicknames that go with it (Kris, Kristy, Tina). It it unrealistic to name a daughter this and think she wouldn’t eventually be called one of these nicknames?

If you don’t like the nicknames for Kristina, just insist on Kristina. People will call her by the nicknames, but if you insist most friends and family will call her Kristina. Another cute nn I heard the other day was Kiki. Actually, I met a little girl named Nicole and her mother caled her Kiki. I looked it up and I found that it is the Scandavian of Christina. So Kiki or Kristina, but both are fine. =)

I think it’s unrealistic. She might actually prefer to be called a nickname.

My daughter best friend is Kristina and has never been called anything else. She’s 15. I have a friend Christine who has always been Christine-never Chris. I guess it is up to the individual if she opts for a nn or not.

If you name her Kristina, that’s what she should be called...at least until she’s old enough to have an opinion in the matter. I really don’t know why people are so hung up on deciding nicknames for their children!

My name is Kristina, and for a few years now I’ve gone by Kris, but in middle school I went by Tina (worst decision ever- didn’t fit who I am), but Kristina is a beautiful name, even without the nickname.

My toddler daughter calls herself "kina" and it's so adorable might stick with it she can t fully pronounce kristina yet haha gave her own nickname

My name is Kristina. I usually go by my full name, but close friends and family call me Nina.
