Nathalie vs. Natalie

They’re both pronounced NAT-ah-LEE. He likes Natalie, I adore Nathalie. Which do you like better? I should clarify, Nathalie is the FRENCH spelling, it’s not made up. Thanks! ~ Kristi and Simon Callahan.

I’ve always preferred the French spelling Nathalie but if you live in the US, I think you should go with Natalie so your daughter won’t have to correct people all her life. Good luck!

Agreed. Where I live Nathalie is more common, but if you’re not in a francophone area, Natalie makes more sense.

I’ve always thought that the French version is more elegant. But there isn’t anything wrong with Natalie either.

I would want to pronounce it nath- alie. I think you should go traditional. It is such a cute name and It will get annoying for her to always have to correct spelling and pronunciation. Maybe you can give her a French middle name.
