How to spell ADD ah LAY vs. ????
I like the name Adelaide but I have a problem with the LAID sound at the end of the name. I’ve been thinking the name (ADD ah LAY) would be really pretty ... but I’m not sure how to spell it to make it look legit. Adelay, Adelei, Adelai, Adelae ? :\ WDYT???

I think Adelae would be best and looks very pretty. it’s not one of my favorite names, but i have to admit it looks very pretty. but, however you spell it you will always have pronounciation problems. i have a friend bieta who was always called "beet" at school. Also, When i hhear Adelae i think on-delay, on-delay. as in like a race. Idk, maybe thats just me. Either way, I would consider these problems before naming your daughter this. GL!

I like the name Adelae, its very pretty and different. I think Adelae spelled like this is the prettiest too! I don’t think people with mispronounce it. My name is Erin, and all my life I get, Anne, Erica, Karen, so no matter what there are people who just butcher your name, however simple. good luck!!

Adalay looks prettiest, imo. Second would be Adelay...but I think Adalay would give you the least pn problems. Some of the other ways might be pn add-uh-lee.

Previous poster no matter what your name is always mispronounced. My name is Kaylin and I get Katlyn all the time even though there is clearly no t in my name. I like Adalae the best

I think it is nice when I can look at a name and be able to pronounce it right away instead of having to look at it several times to see what it says. Do the child a favor and name them a name that is normal!

I know someone who went with Adelai but to me I read add-uh-lie because of Lorelai Gilmore. Adelae is very pretty! Reminds of the name Rae which I always loved as a little girl’s middle name.
