Out of your choices, I think Emmalia looks the prettiest and will probably be the closest to the pronunciation you are looking for. Another option would be Emma-Leah. A bit contrived, but easy to pronounce. Good luck!

Is this a made up name? From someone who has to spell out my name constantly it becomes old and annoying really quick! If it is a \’known\’ name I\’d go with the popular spelling.

My mother’s name is Emily and we want to honor her while also using the Greek pronunciation which is like Em-me-leah (our family is Greek.) But I don’t think there is an easy English equivalent. We much prefer this pronunciation to Amelia. We are definitely concerned about her name being too complicated. Thanks for the feedback.

Whoops... I voted for Emilia but I think that would be pronounced like "Amelia". Sorry I didn’t read your pronunciation carefully.

I am Greek too! My birth name is Emma but my baptismal and what my Yiayia’s call me is Emmelia. Emmelia is the orginial spelling. I think Emmelia is the best because it is easier to pronounce than Emilia (it looks like Ee-mee-leah) but prettier looking than Emmaleah.

I'm not sure which one I like best. I really love St. Emilia, but I don't like how her name is pronounced. There are variations on her name though - "The holy and righteous Emilia (also Emily or Emmelia)" Emily is pretty but very common. Emmelia sounds very complicated, though pretty. All in all, I would not use one of these as a first name. Probably as the middle name and patron saint. I was thinking Isobel Emilia?
