Cheyenne vs. yes vs. no

Hi, I’ve always loved the name Cheyenne but recently someone told me it sounds like a stripper name. I don’t want to call my child something that has negative connotations. So yes or no as to whether it’s a good name and suggestions to replace it please! Thank you!

i love the nane Cheyenne. My cousins name is Rhiannon Cheyenne and we call her Chy..And she is far from a stripper...It’s beautiful and i would definatly go with it for a baby girl. I like the combos

I think Cheyenne is a very beautiful, classic name. The only names I would relate to a stripper is something like Starr.
It’s a nice name, and the nn Chy is adorable. If I was you..I would go for it! (:

No. As a person with Native ties, I know for a fact that Native American people find these names offensive and are angered by their use. Cheyenne is not a name for a person, it is a group of people. Dakota, Lakota, Cheyenne, etc. should never be used as names.

I think Cheyenne sounds like a stripper because there is actually a strip club called "Cheyenne’s." I personally love the name. I think it is very pretty and that connection wouldn’t stop me from using it!
