Leonardo vs. DaVinci

My husband and I want to name our little girl in honor of Leonardo DaVinci, but we have no clue where to start. Please help. This is really important to us. Any suggestions are appreciated. Please be polite. It’s a tradition in my husband’s family to name your children after someone who influenced your life deeply, and James and I are art majors. Please, please help.~ Kara and James

What about Dahlia? It combines the Da and plays wiht the leo part. Also Mona or Lisa.

Im trying to recall my art history from quite some time ago, so I apologize if it is a bit foggy. I believe his mother’s name was Caterina, and he was from the region of
Florence, so maybe those are a few names to build off of. To make a suggestion, it would be

Leonie is my first thought. Flora or Florence to honor his birthplace, Ramona/Mona or Lisa (but not together, please!), for his most famous work are a few more.

Leonie Florence would be a stunning honorific!

You should know that DaVinci wasn’t his last name, it was just where he was from Leonardo from(da) Vinci, you could name her a feminine form of Leonardo...

Lena
or you could even go with Leonarda...
I also like the idea of using inspiration of one of his paintings for a name, like Mona, Lisa, or Madonna
