I would never have come up with that pronunciation based on either of the spellings. I would have said Sa-nuh. The name you have indicated by the spelling is the name of a friend of mine: Sinaya. I love her name, but I have no idea what her middle name is. How about Sinaya Helene?

Sanaa is pronounced "Suh-Nah," like the acress, Sanaa Lathan.

I think you should spell it Saniya, Saniyah, Sanaya.
