Perfect African vs. Baby girl name

We were going to use the name Nazri or Nazaree (the Naz in both rhyme with Jazz), but got too many people disliking these names or saying that they look too much like Nazi. So we’re seeing what people do like in terms of African names. We want something that sounds nice but isn’t too over the top or stereotypical (like Kiara or A’sharia). Can you help us think of the perfect baby girl name (and a more ’American’ middle name to match)?

A co-worker named her daughter "Adesina" (she pronounces it "Add-a-sheena") and calls her "Ade" (Addy) for short. I can’t recall the meaning, but I do remember her saying she chose it for the meaning.

Just thought I’d say that I like Nazri or Nazari (spelled like that). I also like the suggestion Markitta.

I agree that it sounds like Nazi. I would go with Kendi...its cute, but good to grow into, and even thought it is very African-sounding, it would hardly ever be mispronounced.

Thanks everyone. So far I really like Sakile and Kendi.

Also I want to get one thing straight about Nazri, it’s said like JAZZ-ree just with an N instead of a J, not like NAHZ-ree (too nasal sounding).

Any other suggestions are also more than welcome. We could use middle name ideas also!
