Need a vs. Nick Name vs. For Jacqueline

Hi everyone, I am seven months pregnant with a baby girl to be named Jacqueline. My husband lost his twin sister to cancer when he was in high school and it is very important to him we honor his sister with her name. As I love my husband, I have no problem with his request and while Jacqueline wouldn’t be my first choice, I don’t not like it. The only problem however is coming up with nick names. I HATE Jackie so much, but I can’t come up with any other names. A friend suggested JC as her middle name will be Claire. Please help me come up with more!! Thanks!

Quinn? I have met people named Jacqueline with this nickname.

I like JC, but you could also go with Linny...?

You should keep in mind that the nn you use may have absolutely nothing to do with her name.

I worked with a little girl who’s nn was PT, which was a nn for Petunia which the family gave her because she has large red lips (think Angelina Jolie). Her actual name was Catherine :)

I’d call her Quinn. Good luck!

If you don’t love Jaqueline, then why would you use it for a first name. You would still be honoring his sister if you used it as a middle name. That way he gets what he wants, and you can give your daughter a first name you love.

Well, lots of kids have nns that have nothing to do with their names. You can just see what she ends up getting!

We call our son Boo Bear about half of the time.

I Do think you will find some people call her Jackie no matter what you do. Some names just demand to be shortened, and I think this is one of them.
You might find you like it better than you think once it’s on your beautiful baby.

My name is Jaclyn (not quite the same but as close as you can get) and as I grew older I began shortening my name to Jaci (Jackie). Jaclyn was too much of a mouthful. For my entire life my family, extended family and close friends have always called me Jack. I think it’s a great nickname for a very feminine name like Jacqueline.

Jacqueline Claire is a beautiful name. I knew a girl named Jacqueline who went by Jax - I thought that was pretty cute.
