Estelle vs. Stella

Hi! We are expecting our second child. I prefer the name Stella, but my husband prefers Estelle with the nickname Stella. He thinks Estelle is timeless and elegant, but it reminds me of Estelle Getty from Golden Girls. Which name would you rather have? Thanks so much!

I know a girl called Estella. I think it sounds OK, and not too fussy like some elongated names can sound. Estella could be the perfect compromise? (I agree with you entirely, not your husband.)

I love the name Estella - much better than Estelle or Stella. Funny thing is, I really dislike Stella but love Estella. Makes no sense, I know, but there you have it. Stella seems kind of harsh to me.
