Ambii vs. Ambi vs. Amby

Or a different spelling? My name is Amber. I am in college and my friends have started using my name as Ambii when they text me or talk to me on a social network. I’m extremely particular about spelling and I think the ii is wild looking. Do you think I should subtly change my new nn spelling so everyone will start to spell it my way? Or leave it the way they started it? Sorry to ask, but I’m particular about spelling. Thanks for your help!

I suppose a nickname doesn’t matter. Just use Amber when you start applying for jobs. In my opinion, first names that end with the letter i come across as air headed and clueless.

I would just leave it since they came up with it. When I was in college, I had a similar thing happen, and I tried to change my nn and it did not matter. My friends stuck with the original. Ambii is kind of cute. I just would not use it when you are older.
