Variant Spellings vs. for vs. Leia

Hi! My husband is a huge Star Wars fan, and we’re expecting b/g twins. So he wanted to name them Luke and Leia. I said no way, so we’re compromising. Baby boy is Lucas Andrew (Lucas). I told Brian that we could keep Leia if we could find a different spelling and a middle name (which will be used in day-to-day life). Their brother is Ben (yes, I know). Any ideas? Andrea, Brian, Ben and the twins PS: I am now calling Brian "Darth".

Leah and I love the name Lucas - that’s my sons name. We call him Luke :-)

Honestly, I love the original spelling, but if you must, these are some different spellings (none of which I’ve seen before):

Leya
Leyah
Leiah
Laya
Layah

What about the using Leila? Leilani (lay-LAUHN-ee) with the nn Leia?

I actually like Luke better than Lucas, but it’s also my uncle’s name and he doesn’t let me use the name.
Here’s our list of things we’re considering:
Leah
Lia
Lila
Leila (pronounced Lay-la)
Leila (pronounced Lee-la)
LeeAnn
Lee-Ann
Lee Ann
Spelling is very important to me, as you can tell.
But part of the agreement is a middle name! Any suggestions? Something simple, that will flow well in real life.
Some things we were thinking of:
Leah Mackenzie
Lia Elisabeth
Leila (Lee-la) Maribel/Maribeth
Leila (Lay-la) Sarabeth (Brian’s mom’s name)
Lila Rachelle (Ra-shell)
Thanks so much for your suggestions so far!

I like Leiah

Keep the spelling the same! But if you must change it, use Leiah or Laya or Layah

Why does no one on this website know how to pronounce Leia? It is NOT a different spelling of Leah/Lea/Lia as other posters have suggested.

I know that they’re not the same name. I just don’t want them to have names that scream Star Wars (or "I have geeky parents with no imagination!"). I want something that is vaguely similar, but not the same, as a compromise. That is why I don’t want Leia.
Right now it’s between
LeeAnn
Lila Rachelle
Lila Sharona
Leila (Lay-la) Sarabeth
Lia Elisabeth
I’m going to post another poll with these names.
Thanks guys!

My daughter's name is Soleia. That's an alternative for Leia with a nod towards the name Soleil for the sun.
