Elin and Ella vs. Elin and ??
My dreams of a large family are coming true! We were aiming for 6 kids, but the last one turned out being two! We are gladly welcoming them both to our family in November. Out other 5 kids are Emily, Evan, Emmett, Eliza, and Eric. The twins are both girls and one of their names will be Elin. We need a name for Elin’s twin that also begins with E. We like Ella but we don’t know if it’s too close to Eliza? All suggestions will be considered! Thanks from all of us! ---The Gibbs Family

We say Eliza like uh lye zuh, or ell eye zuh kind of, and not ee lye zuh. Elin is said like ee lynn. We don’t think Eliza and Elin are too close the way we pronounce them. Thank you though!

I know how to pronounce Eliza and Elin, thank you. They’re too close. Do a poll about that and see what people think.

Two El names are fine, another would be overkill! Stick with Elin. I like Elin and Esme, Elin and Edel, and Elin and Everly

Poster 4, Elin and Ella are way more alike than Eliza and Elin, so why are you arguing about the similarities between two names that aren’t even that close? Besides, its her children if she wants them to have names that are identical, but one letter is changed she can, not recommended but she can. I know you’re just stating your opinion, as she asked but you don’t have to be rude about it. There is such thing as stating your opinion with tact :)

Why, oh why do people do this? It really renders perfectly normal-sounding names silly.

Of course you don’t understand the post. The names, by themselves, are perfectly fine. But when you say all the names of all your children in the family and it begins sounding like a tongue-twister, then it’s time to dump the "theme". Sometimes I wonder if families with same letter themes actually like the name child #4 or child #5 gets, or if they just had to find something to fit the contrived theme.
