Adiya vs. Adiah

Hi, My name is Courtney and I have a baby girl on the way. We are an interfaith family and Adiya is a Jewish name I found online said Add-ee-uh. I am most familiar with the Adiya spelling and prefer it. I do know that Adiah is more widely used, though still unique in the states. Her nickname will be Addy. We really love this name and want the best spelling for our girl. Thanks a bunch and God’s blessings. Courtney

Actually, I think Adia looks more elegant and pretty than either of the other options. The others look forced or contrived, but Adia looks natural and lovely. What’s the original Jewish spelling?

I would pronounce both spellings as Ah-die-ah, but of the two I prefer Adiah. I love the suggestion above of Adia! Maybe Addia since you will call her Addy?

I prefer Adiya, it simply looks right to me and I think you should use whichever spelling you are most comfortable with.

I speak Hebrew and know Hebrew names, and I’ve never head of it. What’s the meaning? Do you know how it’s spelled in Hebrew letters?
If it means "witness" then the most correct pronunciation would be "Aydya", but otherwise I don’t know.

Just found the name on a website, it’s apparently "God’s ornament". Never heard of it before, but I guess you learn something new every day.
I like the spelling Adiyah the best.

Also have you heard of Sasona? Suh-sohn-nuh? It means joy and bliss. I wish it was said Suh-so-nuh. think I could say it that way and get away with it in the states?
