Female Version vs. of vs. Albert

My husband’s grandfather was recently diagnosed with cancer and so we would like to find a girls name that we could use to honor him. His name is Albert Michael, so the only option we’ve come up with is Ettalyn Michele (which is actually his mother’s middle name as well). Just wondering if anyone has any first name suggestions that sound like Albert for a girl. Thank!

You should know Alberta is a real name. GL! Like it?

Alberta. I don’t see Ettalyn as a female version of Albert at all. My mother was given the name Greta Alberta at birth. My great aunts made fun of it and told my grandma that Alberta reminded them of a peach, so they changed her name. I think nowadays people don’t know the association of Alberta and peaches, though.

Michaela is a girl’s version of Michael. How about Michaela Alberta, or Michaela Ettalyn. I <3 the name Michaela!

I’m not a big fan of Alberta. Ettalyn is just a name my husband and I like, Michele is the part of the name that would be after his grandfather. Just wondering if there were any other unique/modern "A" or Albert-like names for a girl.

We could also use a Dutch name. He moved here from Holland when he was a teenager.

No. obviously not. do michaela and save your daughter the hassle of being named alberta or ettalyn? reminds me of eating. michele is cute, but not really working for honoring your grandfather. are you doing this in memory of him already? why don’t you just ask him a name he has always like and call that the honor. don’t mourn the living.

In this case, maybe an AL first name with a Mi middle? You could also do a name that means the same thing....

The name Albert means noble and bright, you could honor him by picking names with a similar meaning.
(of noble kin/family)
Alice
Adelaide
Ailis
Alecia

Like any?

I really like Adelaide/Adalyn, but my niece’s name is Adleigh. Adalyn is why I liked the name Edalyn (Ettalyn) when I saw it. I would just prefer a more uncommon name so that there aren’t 6 other girls in the class with the same name.
