Hi I am in love with the name Preston and want to use it for my son, my husband also likes it buts wants to spell it either Prestin or Prestyn I do not see the appeal towards these spelling what do you think?

Prestin looks like ’pressed in’ & just looks like it is missing something.
Prestyn looks feminine because of the ’y’.
Preston looks complete & is very handsome.

I like Preston the best. But if he wants it to be different I would go with Prestin. The "y" in all names now is over used. & kind of looks odd in my opinion.

Preston is the only legitimate spelling. Please tell your husband that many parents change endings for boys names to "femininize" them so they can use them for their girls (a crazy notion but one that has spread for some unknown reason). That’s what your two other spellings remind me of: trying to make a boys name more feminine looking. Stick with Preston for its masculine look. GL.

The alternate spellings definitely appear feminine. Sticking to the classic way is your best bet.
