Austen is a unique name for a girl but Id think of putting it as a middle name so you could tell it was a girl off hand...maybe something like Olivia Austen.GL!

Austen doesnt strictly have to be a boys name, if she likes it then she can make it a girls name. I grew up with a friend named Austen Rose(girl) so it can be a girls name too. No need to knock her down for trying to be unique.

Giving a girl a boy’s name isn’t "unique." It’s lazy and tacky. You’re not the one who has to live with the name, she is. So pick a GIRL’S name.

It IS tacky. And it is NOT cute. And even if it were cute, is that the image you want for your daughter? REally, too many girls rely on CUTE and forget about NICE, SMART, KIND. Cute is over-rated. How about CLASSY and FEMININE. Austen... is for the boys.

I think the majority of people on here are just *******s😂 And let's not be sexist and assume that Austen (which by the way comes from Jane Austen) is a boys name when names are literally made up and can be whatever the hell we want. Austen is a beautiful name, momma. Screw these fools.
Also, I'm also naming my girl that and was looking at this for ideas. Thank you to the ONE SINGLE PERSON who was smart enough to actually answer the question instead of giving stupid opinions that literally no one asked for.
