Madelyn doesnt need a nickname!! If your going to call her Maddy,name her Maddy! You caould always name her Madelyn and call her Mads sometimes because Mads isnt a real nickname like Maddy.

Oh not another Maddy! Madelyn is gorgeous alone! I like Mads because it isn’t a "real" nickname like the pp said. It’s not like shes going to introduce herself or write "mads" on a paper. She will say my name is Madelyn.

We like Madelyn and will call her that mostly, but I do like to think about her NN... Don’t want opinions about whether or not to use a NN just how to spell this one. Thanks!

For the spelling Madeleine, there are nicknames Adele, Leine, Lena and Addie. You could probably use Addie and Adele?

We are spelling her name Madelyn... I was just wondering if people would automatically spell her nickname as Maddie or could we use Mady

I would spell it Maddy, thats how most people will spell it

Just wondering if there is a diference betwen Maddie and Mady because i would pronunce them the same.
Also mads is a real nn my daughters name is Madeline and she introduces herself as Mads

My daughter’s name is Madalyn and I like her to be called that of course b/c that’s her name! BUT like you said, there are times when you shorten the name after saying it a million times a day! Haha my daughter is 2! Haha I have always spelled it as Mady...of course the only time it’s ever spelled is if I’m typing out a text and referring to her, other than that it’s not really used or spelled. Of course you can spell her nn that way, at some point someone will misspell her name or nn b/c there are so many ways of spelling both!! Just use whichever you like best!

I think you could use Mady! Most people who have the name Madeline would spell it Maddie but since it’s Madelyn I think Mady works and people might misspell it most wont because i no lost of Mady’s and Maddie’s but if they did they would get it right eventually.
