I love Sophie and Sophia, I think they are beautiful names. I suppose maybe Sophie has become very popular and that’s what turns people off it but once you love it it shouldnt matter.
I think Sophie Paige is lovely, I’m not a fan of Patrice but again once you like it. I just think Sophie Paige is much prettier.

I love Sophie. I think Sophia is popular, but I don’t know any Sophies. I think Sophie is much more elegant and understated than Sophia - I’ve always like it better.
I don’t like Paige or Patrice much.
What about Sophie Katherine, Sophie Kate, Sophie Amelia, or Sophie Danielle?

I like Sophie, but I used to dislike the name. I think that ph/f sounds hit some people’s ears in the wrong way.. That’s just a guess, but I think that’s why names like Sophie, Fiona, Felicity, Stephanie, etc are Love ’em or hate ’em names. In addition to that, a lot of people detest popular names and think that everyone should stay out of the top 100... but names are popular for a reason :)

When my sister was pregnant she decided on Harper for a girl, which she had and named Harper Maggie and everyone both her friends and family hated it but two and half years on I love it as does everyone else and she gets so many compliments but had she have listened to us she would never have named her daughter that!

They are pretty names. People are probably just tired of them because they are THE popular names in the US right now.

It’s definitely a pretty name, but it’s just personally not one of my favorites. After it became so popular (and my niece was also named Sophie), I just feel like it’s like hearing that same song on the radio a lot- some people love it and playing it more makes em love it more and for some people they just hear it too much and start to dislike it.
You know what I mean?

Even though I personally do not want to choose Sophie for my daughter, there are other popular names I LOVE that others find to be way too common (i.e. Emma, Matthew). So, it all comes down to personal preference, and in the end you are the parents and your preference matters most!!!

Always remember that no matter what you name your child, someone in your life is going to dislike that name for this reason or that reason. In the end, go with what you think best fits your little girl and seriously all the people who disliked it will not be able to imagine her being named anything but_________ (whatever you name her!) That name will represent her, and once they meet her and love her--the name becomes much more beautiful
