I really love the name Andre, but my baby boy will be white and my family says it’s a "black" name. What do you think? And what name do you prefer? Andre or DeAndre?

Your family is mean and racist. Name it Andre just to push in into their faces how wrong and mean they are. I like Andre better and it isn’t a "black" name. So stereotypical... So rude. Your family is rude

I went through this same thing when I named my son Davion (Davey-on). Name him whatever YOU like regardless of what your family thinks.

André is actually the French version of Andrew. Yes, it’s popular in the black community but so are a lot of names that are multicultural. However, due to the prevalence of the Sha,La and De beginnings in black naming practices, I would consider a DeAndré to be a black child. Just ignore your family and give your child a name you love. GL.

Like others said, Andre is not a "black" name...it is French. And DeAndre definitely IS a "black" name. Go with Andre!
