My husband is Greek and wants to name our boy Stavros. Stavros translates to Steve in English. Do you think our son will get picked on if his name is Stavros? Should we just go with Steve?

Hi! This may be a little off, but maybe you could name him Stavros and call him Steve? Or is that too far from Stavros as a nn?

He will be picked on if he is named Stavros. Use Steven instead.

I’d go with Stavros or Stephen -- but, they aren’t really the same name at all.
