Different vs. Same

So I’m not actually pregnant but my SIL is. She asked me what I thought was prettier- Made-LEN or Made-LIN (spelled like Madeleine). Do you actually hear a difference when you say it out loud? I heard these pronunciations as the same and she went crazy on me! How do you pronounce that name?

For me, LEN sounds like Ben, and LIN would be lynn. Maybe that’s what she meant?
The original French way is LEN, I think. LIN... came afterwards.
I prefer LEN, by the way.

I think most people pronounce it with the lin sound. It’s usually spelled with the line, lin, or lyn at the end - no len sound at all. ;-)

*Pregnant women are crazy... Especially this one. haha. Seriously though, don’t let her hormones get to you.
