Is naming my son Rogue vs. a really bad idea?

Hello I’m Lucie and I am pregnant with a baby boy!! I have little twin girls called Caryn Mae and Harlyn Rae. I really need your advice on a name. I’ve fallen in love with the name Rogue. I know that it is unusual and mostly unheard of but as soon as I heard it I just had a ’that’s it’ moment about naming my son. My partner is ok with the name but my parents hate it so I wanted some outside opinions. I do really love the name so if I am really discouraged from using it as a name for my son then I will most definitely use it as his middle name. Thank you, any opinions greatly appreciated ~ Lucie, Nathan, Caryn, Harlyn and baby boy

Sorry, but I think it’s just awful. 1. It’s not a name. 2. While I’m not generally hung up on meanings of names, if the name is a word (and not really a name), then I think it really does matter. And naming your son "An unprincipled, deceitful, and unreliable person; a scoundrel or rascal; A wandering beggar; a vagrant; A vicious and solitary animal" is just AWFUL.
It’s like actually telling him in his name that’s he’s not part of the family and he’s to different to be welcome into the fold.

Wasn’t Rogue the guy played by Johnny Depp in Chocolat?
I don’t think it’s perfect, as poster #1 said it’s meaning isn’t really nice. If you want to name your son something that matches your rhyming girls names, you could probably name him Harrison, Carson, Carlyle or something like that.
Keep looking. Maybe use Rogue as a middle name =)

Or maybe you could give a fuller name and just call him Rogue for short? The one that pops into my head is Rogan (rhymes with Logan).

Rogue is also a female character in X-Men. Don’t saddle your child with a name just because you think it’s cool. Give your kid a proper name and name a cat Rogue if you have to have something named that in your house. Kids today can be extremely mean so think of what you might be setting your kid up for.

My middle is Rogue and that's how I
found this post haha. Hurts my feelings to see everyone hating on it but to each their own.
