Middle name vs. for Finnick vs. Not from the hunger games!
I posted before about middle names to go with Finnick but didn’t get many comments. I am NOT using the name bc of the hunger games! I have never even read the books. I simply love this name and the nn Finn. I am not asking opinions on Finnick I just really need help with middle names. I have a son already named after my husband and we have no family names we are willing to use. Please help!! Thanks so much!

Personally, I would use Griffin or just plain Finn. When I see Finnick, I think of a finicky eater.

Finn is a very old Irish name, all on its own. You could also do Finnegan, Phineas, of Flynn.
I love the name, and like you, I haven’t read the Hunger Games.
However, I’m not a fan of the, "ick," on the end, and personally, I wouldn’t choose a name likely to be a trendy thing or likely to make people assume I’d used it because of a book-even if I hadn’t.
Like, I’d never use a name from Twilight, even though I’ve never read any of those and I like several of them.
Anyway, I’d go with something short and sturdy-maybe with Gaelic roots.
Finnick Sean
Finnick John
Finnick Michael
Finnick Thomas
Finnick Owen
Finnick Liam
Finnick William

I agree with the pp about the "ick" ending. Not super attractive and could causing lots of teasing when he’s older. I do love Finn, and I think the suggestion of finnegan is lovely!

We like Finnick...
James
Riley(my fave)
Sebastian
Owen
Joseph
Michael
Liam
Oliver
Everett
Rowen
But more suggestions are welcome. None feel like "the one"
Also I don’t care about popularity my other kids have pretty popular names and Finnegan is cute but reminds me of an anti nausea med phenergan(sp?) and the "ick" ending doesn’t bother me it’s the same as Nick, Rick or Vick. I just like the flow of Finnick I think it’s perfect.

Finnick reminds me of the word Finicky. (it’s spelled something like that.)

I LOVE Finnick. We are debating on using Finnick or Desmond for our baby boys name and like you having issues with middle names that flow nicely. We are still considering other middle names but think we will probably end up using Leon for his middle name. Good luck!
