Dezi vs. Desi

We’ve decided on Dezi/Desi James for our baby boy. Now we are unsure of which spelling to go with. Desi is a gender neutral name, while Dezi is a boy name, they both have the same meaning and the same pronunciation (De-zee). Which spelling is best? Thank you!

I like Dezi for a boy because, imo, the Z looks more harsh while the S is softer. :)

i picked Desi because the only Desi i’ve ever seen is Desi Arnaz (husband of Lucille Ball from I Love Lucy)Cuban born.
